I love my family! Not just my biological family, but also friends who are like family to me. And I LOVE kids! I adore my kids, and my nieces and nephews. Between my husband and myself, we have nine children, six of whom are adopted from foster care. Our passion is to see the world reconciled to God through the Lord Jesus Christ, and to see those who bear the name Christian truly walk on this earth the way that Jesus did--in humility, faith, power, and holiness--exalting God the Father above all else! |

Since I was nine years old, I loved working with kids and knew I wanted to be a teacher. Over the years I have taught in public and private schools, volunteered at an inner city bus ministry, served as director of Children's Ministries at my church, and home schooled my own children. When my niece and nephews were little, I used to tell them stories from the Bible--and they would ask for more, one after another--I guess because of how crazy and animated I acted when I told them. |

When they moved away (Lori--why did you do that to me!!) I promised them that I would think of all the Bible stories I could and that I'd write them in a book, publish it, and dedicate it to them. Hence: The Tree of Life: From the Garden of Eden to the New Jerusalem!! I wanted to write the book as one unified story, in chronological order, so that readers could understand THE story of the Bible, rather than just mini stories FROM the Bible. Plus, hearing the stories in context and with an understanding of Jewish history gives readers a deeper understanding of the Scriptures when they go back and read them in the Bible. My husband and I are personally convicted with reaching "the least of these"--especially children who are orphaned around the world and in our own country. This is why we have partnered with Bethany Christian Services and have made ourselves available to adopt children from the foster care system who cannot be reunited with their biological families. God has been gracious with us in adopting us into his family, and what less could we do than to adopt children who need a loving family, with parents who will love them as their own flesh and blood. |

Another passion of our hearts is sincere and intimate worship with God. We have both been leading worship for over 15 years. My husband is an amazing musician and songwriter, and has that distinct "Beatles influence" that makes everyone fall in love with his melodies and chord progressions. But the most important part of the songs is, of course, that they come from a sincere heart of adoration of God our Father and our Savior, Jesus.
